A Loudoun County judge denied bond Thursday for a Sterling man accused of a murder-for-hire plot targeting his ex-wife, according to media reports. Dallas W. Brumback Jr., 35, was arrested last week and charged with attempted capital murder after he allegedly solicited a man to kill his ex-wife, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Loudoun County police are investigating a peeping Tom incident Monday evening in Ashburn. The incident occurred between 9 and 9:15 p.m. at a home in the 20300 block of River Ridge Terrace in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A study done for Virginia Hospitality Travel Association showed no relationship between starting school before Labor Day and student scores on the Standards of Learning tests. James McMillan, a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, analyzed 74 school districts that start before Labor Day and 58 that don't for the 2012-2013 school year to reach that finding.
