A 10-year-old child sustained life-threatening injuries Monday morning after being ejected from a vehicle during a fatal crash on the Southeast Side. Investigators with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said a car rear ended another in the southbound lanes of Highway 181 at West Laguna Road at around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, sending it across the median.

The San Antonio Fire Department has suspended Lt. Lee Michael Stanphill, 39, with two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated after he was arrested a third time in late October for allegedly driving a city-owned vehicle while intoxicated in Bandera County.

In Comal County, dime-sized hail was reported in Gruene before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, and pea-sized hail was reported at about the same time north of Gruene, said meteorologist Larry Hopper of the National Weather Service in New Braunfels. Areas northeast of San Antonio saw "a lot of lightning all over the place" and heavier precipitation, Hopper said.
