Officers were called Thursday to the bridge that runs over Apache Creek in San Antonio after a passerby reported seeing the woman. A department spokesman says the body showed signs of trauma on each leg and that police are treating the death as very suspicious.

The city recently sold a vacant lot at 803 E. Cherry St. on the near East Side to Alamo Beer Co., seemingly putting an end to a 3A1 2-year contentious saga - at least, in the eyes of some observers. Both the city of San Antonio and the Hays Street Bridge Restoration Group filed motions in various courts Thursday related to the 1.7-acre property north of the bridge.

Hydraulic fracturing in the Eagle Ford Shale is adding water stress to a region where aquifers already are being overdrawn, according to a new report from the Mosbacher Institute at Texas AM University. The report, released this week, looks at water use in the 26-county Eagle Ford, which swoops 400 miles from Webb County at the Mexican border to the College Station area in the east.
