The special prosecutor who secured two felony abuse of power indictments against Gov. Rick Perry is facing his own legal problems after a decision by Texas' highest criminal court to renew a contempt of court case against him. Prosecutors filed a contempt of court motion against San Antonio-based attorney Michael McCrum in January, after a separate case the previous fall.

According to the Montgomery County district attorney, Nicolas Garcia Gutierrez believed he was communicating with a 15-year-old child. Texas Rangers along with deputies with the Montgomery County Constables Office precincts 1 and 3 executed a search and arrest warrant at Gutierrez's residence in Bexar County Monday.

One child was killed in an early morning crash Monday that has shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Shepherd Road on Bexar County's Southwest Side. The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. and the lanes of I-35 were expected to be closed for most of the morning.

Representatives for Bexar County on Thursday announced they have filed 1,001 lawsuits in recent days to collect about $3.7 million from property owners who have not paid their tax bills for 2013 or prior years. The number of lawsuits filed this year is virtually the same as last year, but the dollar amount that the suits seek to collect is down significantly.
