Watch: Broner calls to fight Nate Diaz on Mayweather-McGregor undercardtheScore
Adrien Broner has Nate Diaz in his sights.
While promoting his upcoming date with undefeated boxer Mikey Garcia on Monday, Broner announced he'd like to take on Nate Diaz on the undercard of an August superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor - provided he emerges from his tilt with Garcia unscathed.
"After this fight, I feel like if I come out untouched, you know, I feel like I'll be victorious, I feel like I should come back and fight on Floyd's undercard against Nate Diaz," Broner said.
Even if Broner really is genuinely gunning for a meeting with Diaz - who applied for a license to box in the state of Nevada earlier this year - odds are his words will fall on deaf ears, as Mayweather Promotions boss Leonard Ellerbe has repeatedly stated the megabout's undercard will only feature career boxers.
Broner will lock horns with Garcia on July 29 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, less than a month before McGregor and Mayweather meet at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
